I survived!

It was a hard day. Could end with a disaster but fortunately has a happy ending.
I heard loud horse's screaming from distance. A way too frequent and nervous to be normal. I hoped it's not Mr. Grey, 'cause then things would be really interesting but it turned out it was Impuls, one of two new geldings.

Poprzestawiała go we wszystkie strony, używając wyższej energii i wymagając tego samego. Poganiała go trochę dookoła, po czym przekazała w moje ręce.
Miałam w planie dopracowanie cofania do tunelu, ósemkę i chody boczne.
Przestawiałam go, napierałam, szarpałam.
I wtedy dopiero zaczęło boleć.
Tymczasem on zaczął jeść trawę. I przeszło. Sama go tam wprowadziłam i trzęsącymi się rękami założyłam najpierw kantar stajenny, przypięłam do liny, zdjęłam sznurkowy.
I je wypełniałam.
I koni.

Nic związanego z wprowadzaniem konia do boksu.
I w oczach i w sercu i w umyśle. Nie zamykajmy się w schematach. Włączmy myślenie, kreatywność, podchodźmy zawsze indywidualnie.
Kierujmy się sercem, to najlepszy drogowskaz w drodze do koni.

School trip

Today I invited my classmates to stable. I'm doing a project about horses funded by EU and wanted to show them how it all works. I could talk 'bout Parelli for hours and hours, but most of my friends don't work with horses so we just taught them the basics. Me and Mr. Grey (3yo stallion I'm playing with) demonstrated 7 games and I spoke a bit bout horses' nature, way of thinking and point of view.
Mr. Grey was such a good boy today! He wasn't sitting in box like before, he finally could run with the herd on pasture and I was soo happy because of it. 😁. Juliet equipped me with dried bread and a warning it won't be easy to catch him. She told me to feed other horses first to make him jealous and then I may succeed.
And hah you won't believe. I'm going there, he looks at me, rolls, stands up and makes few steps. No running away, no bucking, no freaking out which I was expecting. I simply walked to him, gave him bread, touched and caught on a rope. Then we changed to a rope halter and Parelli rope, cause Juliet expecting troubles told me to first use the halter he already had on his head. This way he would not run away. But he didn't mean it! No problems at all! Such a lovely horse ❤️❤️
We came close to the fence, my school herd gathered on the other side. "Ooooh" "wooow" and "soo pretty!" everywhere 😁 A little stressed started tellig to my dear audience about natural horsemanship, explaining all hows and whys. I introduced to them main goals of Parelli, equipment we use, how the 7 games make the language, which we can use to communicate. Then we started showing everything in practice. I was really proud of Mr. Grey- he's improved really much in Friendly Game with carrot stick- he was just in the place I left him the last time. When we started that time he was really scared of savvy string and now we came to hitting the ground hard, with a quite relaxed horse, which I see as a big success. I was trying to explain our body language as well as i could so they could understand what we were doing. I think I did it well and am really happy cause of it. I've already described all Games on this blog, so I won't type bout details now, if you're interested feel free to explore all posts 😄
As we went along with games pressure was going away from me and I was doing everything more relaxed. I was giving the stallion time to think, wasn't pushing him too much. He was beautifully focused on me, often responded to first phase, trotted, didn't care 'bout surroundings at all, wasn't going crazy, in general he was such a good boyy 💓 When we were done with 7 games I lugged a barrel to the fence to show the real use of games and importance of creativity. You can do Circling around a barrel,  Driving with head or hinds sticked to it, Sideways above the barrel (high school so we didn't try, I'm just giving an idea 😉), jump it, squeeze between the barrel and a fence, million variations! Or you can do as we did- give the barrel to a human, not a horse. I sat on it so I couldn't move and  asked Mr. Grey to do Yo-yo and Circling. With changing directions and pace. And it was great! We were doing it for the very first time! 💪💪💪
We've got a massive applause, everyone was really impresed by my knowledge and Parelli in general. Very proud and happy with our today's partnership I took my stallion outside for grass so the class could stroke him. He still was a good boy- absolutely not the same horse!
Troubles started when I decided to leave him and bring Pochodnia to show my friends her little daugter. Unfortunatelly he found out the fence isn't under voltage and he can walk under. I hoped he won't do it again if I lock the gate better but he did. I've already taken the halter of so I had to catch a loose horse. Once he run away, but second time it was no problem. And people enjoyed watching a cantering horsey 😂
In such a situation I couldn't leave him on the paddock and had to put him into a box. I didn't think it through right. We had to walk next to two geldings. Mr. Grey absolutely can't stand one of them and they argue horribly all the time. I hoped we'll pass somehow but of course he couldn't. He stopped right in front of Impuls. Gelding put his nose on Grey's back, smelling deeply. They stood seemingly calm for a while, but it was a silence before the storm. Tension in the air was tangible- I felt it can explode every moment. I really didn't want it to happen so tried to pull Mr. Grey to me, to make him move just a little, but let's be honest- horses are a way stronger and I couldn't. It happened. Fortunately not as bad as I expected- no rearing, biting or kicking. Bahri just jumped a little, shouted with a characteristic stallion voice, like he was bitten and then I was able to pull him forward. I was really happy, cause he was not making any problems in box, simply decided to be a good boy again and stand still. 😀
I went out to my friends, behaving like nothing happened and with a big smile but still shaking a bit after it all walked on the paddock. Our little foal is becoming nicer and nicer. She's more brave everyday, came to me, smelled, allowed me to touch her. Big success! I wondered if I could put a rope over her body and lead her like that, but decided it may not be a good idea, cause probably no one's tried it and her mother could become worried. So as I planned before, I caught her mom and bring her to the fence. As I expected little one followed us so everybody could see a horsey child. We admired cute fluffy for a long  while 💓
And then came time for another highlight. July let Mr. Grey out and the whole herd started running around and being freaks 😂
All kinds of playful things horses do so people really liked watching it.
The trip was great, I didn't bore them to death, most were really interested and asked me many things, some even wanted to visit stable with me again. They all predicted me a great natural horsemanship career, probably even a Parelli Professional 😂
I hope if some of them one day will work with horses they'll be closer to natural horsemanship. This day  was our big success, especially that Mr. Grey was such a good boy and partner 💘
May there be more days like this!

The dearest ❤

Are animals from our stable. Mr. Grey surprised me exceptionally today. He develops a lot all the time, but that was something beautiful 💘
It all started in a very stressful situation. I was going to stable with company of a dark, thundering cloud. It was impossible to tell how it's gonna end- maybe it'll go away, I may be forced to go back in a while or maybe there won't be time for it... Anyway I decided it's important to catch every opportunity to learn something new and well- carpe diem!
So I put everything in my bike to go as fast as we could. I walked into the stable and saw Mr. Grey in his box. I greeted him and collected necessary equipment. Meantime he got so excited he could barely stand. Putting halter on was surprisingly hard, especially 'cause I had to take another one off before.  Mr. Grey wasn't cooperating at all. He was closed alone in the stable all day long, bored to death and it seemed also afraid of the storm. He was jumping all over that box, throwing his head, wriggling, he even pushed me outside the box and tried to escape, but luckily I brought him back inside. My legs we're making it all more difficult cause they started shaking like crazy 😂 I wasn't even so terrified, simply too much adrenaline 😝
Fortunately Juliet came to help me and with her advice I was able to control both the horse and myself. I showed him clearly I am the leader, no walking on me, no pushing and simply passing by 'cause "Jesus Christ, girl I WANT TO GO OUT!!!". He was hit times for walking into my private zone. I found back my confidence that got mislaid for a moment and controlling stallion and slowly also my legs I went out on the paddock.
Mr. Grey immediately started his dance, running to and fro, screaming to other horses. Connecting this with box adventures I was pretty sure it won't be an easy session. I was even thinking about quitting because the storm was coming closer and Bahri was afraid of it. But once we started we couldn't give up so quickly!
We walked a bit, Mr. Grey ran, lost some energy. I remembered what I learned yesterday and starded establishing my position at sight. I am the Alfa, and the Alfa wants the horse's attention for herself not for other horses. Mr. Grey in such moments needs a strong leader to show him who's the boss and most of all interesting tasks to do. If they are addictive enough he focuses on them and forgets things that distracted him. Yesterday I was afraid to be so firm, but today I did it great! I   got back a thinking horse really quickly and was so proud of myself 😁 Last times we could run like this for over 20 minutes! 💪
I planned to train all 7 games in basic version, because on Monday my classmates come to stable to see what we do 😁
We walked a bit more to let him focus on me and started proper session. He needed a lot of time for Friendly game with savvy string, it wasn't done right yet and he's still afraid. It never can look like that. Things we use are to make our body longer and they are a part of it. We use them to communicate, not to scare horses. Mr. Grey knew that a flying string means he's being asked for something and if he won't do it it's gonna hurt.
This time he had no idea what I mean- my body was relaxed, energy low (time to relax for you too horsey) but the string was demanding- hey horse, move NOW! Poor stallion was really stressed with it all. He knew I want something from him but couldn't guess what's that. I wasn't pushing any part of his body, neither did my energy.
I started with hitting the ground really lightly. I knew I can't go too fast- didn't want to get a scared horse running all around. This would make the right answer harder to find and the whole purpose of this game was for him to find it. He's afraid of ropes in general. He was throwing his head to and fro, not knowing what to do but quickly started lowering it to see what I have in hand. Just like this! Goood boyy! I allowed him to smell, think, chew and he started to catch what I mean. Still wasn't sure but found out it isn't about moving feet. He came down to nervously waving his head.
He came closer and tried to hide behind me- when carrot stick was going away he moved his head in that direction but while it was coming back he was hidding head behind me and hugging 💕
He was so sweeeet! He likes to walk on people in general but this time he really wanted to hug, needed my suport. I haven't seen Mr. Grey like that before and I'm so happy he's changing this way!
I was hitting the ground harder and harder as far as he got used to it. In a very short time we made such impressive progres! He needs a lot more playing to stop being afraid of equipment at all but we are on the right track and spin along it like a race horse 😁
Then I checked how are other games. Mr. Grey was so good! Often responded to first phase, in one moment he got so responsive only looking was enough to make him do what I wanted. It was wonderful! <3 <3
We practised walking back to a tunel made of tires like yesterday. But there was a difference. We succeed the very first time! Mr. Grey was so sensitive, so obliging. Already understood something from yesterday's session and walked between those tires. And as soon as hind legs were inside it all problems disappeared! And he started standing completely outside, with no walls or other aids 💪
He got a lot of scratching from me :) Yo-yo was really good, he was focused, didn't try to run away. We practised Circling, especially changing directions because it isn't perfect yet. It turned out that I'm learning fast and only a little is missing.
Mr. Grey's biggest problem are Sideways. He can't understand it at all and most of the times it looks like that: I drive his head away, he does it great but too far and ends with hinds next to my face. To move this rump he needs to flex and focus on me but he prefers to eat grass growing under fence😂
Maybe I should start from hinds and then move shoulders... Great idea!
With squeezing was no problem at all, like always.
At some point when Mr. Grey was standing so peacefull and hugging to me Juliet called horses to barn. There was no time to despair lost moment. I knew what's gonna happen and had to react in a flash. I had to influence on him before he got excited. Other way I would completely loose him- he would run to and fro, screaming and trying to run through me.
Same situation happened yesterday so I knew what to do. I started before it all happend and behaved like it already had. This way it took a lot less time.
So what to do when horse is focused only on herd, panics a bit, runs and doesn't listen at all?
Well, first remind him how his herd looks right now and who's the boss. Of course you.
Clear phase four, lot of confidence, higher energy. You need to make the horse busy, it'll help him forget 'bout other horses. Always stubbornly enforce doing the task, other way horse will adjudge he can ignore us. I didn't have to do a lot today, before Mr. Grey even realized what's going on I engaged him in a game. We walked in opposite direction and after just few steps I had a calm horsey.
Although we turned after a while and the whole calmness was gone as soon as he saw other horses but I controlled him well to stay in the right place, not overtake me or walk on me. That was most important and went great. It doesn't mean he was full of tension and throwing his head somewhere above me. It was a waaay better than cantering around and trying to trample me stallion.
Everything is possible to train, he simply needs time. And that was yesterday! He learns with a lightning speed 🔝
I must tell you me too. Because of Mr. Grey I've got such an amazing opportunity to grow! He's a completely different horse than those I've played before. He requires a ton more firmness, confidence, courage, creativity, working on higher energy, in a higher pace- everything I missed. Everything I'm learning so fast, in every session I get something very valuable. Thanks to it just after few meetings I'm a completely different person, deal a way better with challenges, with horses, with being a leader.
Moreover I get so much happiness and love! I could stay in barn all day. Particulary on days like this.
In the end I took Mr. Grey on grass to thank him and then we came back to box.
We planned playing with Pochodnia, chestnut mare too. I went to her box, saddled with a little Julia's hepl (putting all those gels on the right place is complicated) and with her child (a one and a half month girl) we went to the paddock. Before mounting you have to play a bit- at least 7 minutes, one for each game. This way we check in what mood is our partner today, how responds, we can remind them something if there's such a need. Under the watchful eye of Juliet i played with the mare and I'm really happy she was there. July is such a great instructor! She sees every detail, she really cares about her students, wants them to truly understand even if it doesn't work as it should at the beginning. Not to do plained schemes.
Pochodnia is amazing. I've never met such a sensitive and responsive horse. I had to be very carefull with first phase, it was so easy to overact. I was used to Mr. Grey and when i asked her to change directions I picked up stick immidiately and moved in her direction. Ihis would barely make Mr. Grey move but Pochodnia did a pirouette in canter! :oo Oh God. I didn't mean. Sorry...
I was more careful after it. She was sooo good all the time, I admire especially her Sideways, without a wall, with human behind her, to the human, everything! You just think about it and she's already doing it. She's wonderful.
In saddle it wasn't so easy. Still pleasantly but I've ridden Parelli way just few times and have strong habits from classical riding. As if that was not enough they ride her classical way often so natural horsemanship aids aren't working as they should yet. Therefore our ride looked funny sometimes but we stayed inside the arena and did all tasks from Juliet so I think about it as a big success. First of all I was calm. 5th time I'm not afraid of riding. I think I still am stressed a bit and the horse feels it for sure but that's nothing compared to what was going on before! I have no idea how on Earth I didn't fall of every time X'D Now I'm feeling really great on horse's back and want to ride, ride, ride! <3
We practised an exercise called clover. You ride through a square from poles, ride straight to a wall, turn right and make a circle to come back to square from the next side. And again and again.
It was hard to lead her at first especially because I wanted to hold rains classical way. If you tell me it's ok for a moment but then something happens, I have to react and its over! Damn it!😂
Lots of work wait for me but I'm really happy I have such opportunity. At the end it was going really well, we practised other things too, walked around with the child 💕💕
I made a short video but it ends in the most intersting moment 'cause memory was gone :c But there's something!
Something interesting always happens while 'm playing with horses, so was today. We were on track next to a fence with bushes behind it. We walked there many times and she was completely calm but now suddenly a great fright, horse jumps away, whirs, looks at those bushes like a horrible monster was inside and wriggles like crazy. Juliet of course hat to go out just before that so we left alone with the child. Me like "omg omg!", Pochodnia clearly scared. I had no idea if there's a boar or a snake, 'cause it's quite possible and if we should escape or get off her back. I was conscious my seat won't keep me on during any sudden moves. I really wondered if I should do that, remembering what Pat said- every time you don't feet safe enough get off. But Pochodnia got a little calmer if we weren't too close. I didn't want to go there because I trust the horse- it happened so suddenly and her reaction was so strong and I'm pretty sure she knows what she's doing.
I was afraid od boars but she loves to chase them so it was probably something different. Luckily nothing jumped out that bushes and we finished ride without any troubles. It felt so good to jump off :D I love getting of horses <3 Hah, no, not because I want to get on the ground as fast as possible, its a bit like flying :))
We parked in her box, I helped Juliet with carrying hay and straw (I'll finally learn how to distinguish them! After five years😂😂😂 )and feeding horses.
I left alone with horses. Mr. Grey was more interested in hay so I went to another box to rub the little. God, she so wonderful! She's become such a big girl! And she's sooo lovely! Adult horses may like rubbing but when there's food it looks like "oh just do what ya want human, it's quite nice but HAAAAYYY!". She's not like that. She really needs attention, pampering, playing. She comes close and wants you to stroke her. So I was standing in that box, delighting her amazing soft hair and being really happy she allows me to touch her. Recently she was afraid but now I could hug her from the top and it felt soooo good. Such a warm, soft, tender little creature 💕💕💕
She was funny sometimes 'cause her bottom itched and she found out the car scratch about the door and was bending so silly!
I felt so excellent staying in that barn. Peace, silence, all horses happy and love in the air 💓
I went out so filled with happiness and love! I couldn't stop smiling and wanted to hug every furry being I met. Horses' magic ❤❤❤

Fifty shades of Grey

Today after two weeks of break I visited Bahri Bay. He's injured his leg and stays in box so I expected him to be full of energy and hard to control. But I came there, tooke him out, Juliet groomed his legs and he's completely an other horse! Stands still, barely moves his head like a experienced, older sport horse that knows some activities people do to horses may not be so nice but they have to happen and you need to stand still for a while. Completely not like three years old crazy stallion. Even Juliet was so suprised.
Very glad with it I leaded him to the arena. I've got some instructions- no jumping, one pole if any but better not, trot just a little and under control, light session in general.
Mr. Grey became a bit nervous when he saw other horses and it was hard for him to focus on me, especially because I was trying to take some nice photos 😂
He was wriggling and not paying attention like he should but rolled two times and it was wonderful 💕💕   We played a while and finally connected. I sent him on circle and using just one hand 'cause I was filming with other asked him to trot. Simply adding energy was enough- he did it! Though he's so green and young. I love this horse! And not a crazy trot like always, a very easy, calm one, like a horse-professor. Small steps, relaxed... Wow!
I planned doing all games and maybe not in the right order but I started. We need to practise Porcupine on nose more 'cause he tries to get his head away just like the horse I played with before, Amber. Then by being gentle I convinced him it doesn't have to hurt- if he will try to answer I'll stay in phase one.
Sideways don't look as they should at all- most of the times Mr. Grey's head is far way from me and under the fence, busy eating grass and his hinds are next to my face. Well, lots of work await us, but he's learning really fast, it shouldn't take so long.
Standard squeezing is not a problem at all so I made a tunell from tires. Walking forward through it was too easy so I raised the bar. Backwards. And starting from standing completely outside. I've done sililar things before but the horse was inside first, then I asked him to go out a bit and walk back. This way it is much easier. This time I had a yound, unexperienced horse, which has never done it before and we started outside. He could do what he wanted, there were no walls, no limits. It was great to develop our communication. We needed a precise, working navigation and a lot of trust 'cause a horse sees everything both sides but not right behind. In his eyes it looked like tires were everywhere and I am asking him to walk on them. Because of it he was backing up very nice but when he was very close, turned his rump to one side and I had to start again.
First time he got it very quickly so I praised him a lot. And decided it was too easy so longered the tunel, adding a barrel and some tires. It was also going in an other direction to make it easier a bit. I hoped it won't be a big problem, he did it so well last time but this a way more difficult for him. There were other horses, Mr. Grey's company and two new geldings which he doesn't accept at all so his focus was landing on them quite often.
He was waving his bottom to left and right, not understanding what the hell I want from him. He was responding to my sight! It was great! In Parelli things are not about doing a task they are to improve our communication. Our relationship is always first.
Even if it isn't as we planned it's ok. What counts is to make horse want to cooperate and feel better with us. Like us- Mr. Grey didn't what I asked for but was very responsive and tried really hard so it was a big success. Still I wanted to help him understand so I walked him inside forward and then started to back him up. It was going really well but at some point Juliet went for a short trail ride Horses started running through bushes, calling each other, those who left became fidgety. Mr. Grey was seriously stressed seing that whole confusion. He started trotting like wild from side to side, couldn't focuse on me at all. I can't tell he wasn't listening 'cause eg. driving hinds was perfect but after that short moment he was running in the other direction and I was losing him again.
Lots of running and chasing. Sometimes it was dangerous, 'cause he was trying to run through me when I was between him and the herd. I tried to focus him on me driving his hinds and it was really nice but he was not able to stand still. So I asked him to do Circling to let him run but the way I want it. At the beginning he trotted a half of the cirlce and suddenly spinned to go in other direction! It was ok to let him run, it's a great way to calm down, but not this way. I sent him on a circle and sticked to it. For every try to change directions phase four. We did also drivind from the side in trot. I tried to keep him next to me but sometimes he ran too forward and returned to make crazy half-circles. He was quite calm for a while but then herd that left galloped to join Juliet on trail. And that's the point craziness started. Horses didn't simply run out. They were chasing each other, running, biting, bucking, frolicing and then rushed into bushes next to our paddock. Mr. Grey's gone mad. He nearly trampled me, tried to scare me several times, show me what a big horse he is. Didn't listen at all once he tried to pull out the rope and jerked strongly. Luckily I didn't loose the rope, other way it could end fatal.
There were moments he focused on me and the task and I was really happy then but they never lasted long. I asked him for few more things but then decided it has no sense. I waited for a moment when he was quite calm and we went outside. I took him to the grass for a while but it wasn't like it should 'cause he prefered to go round and pull me into bushes instead of eating 😂
Suddenly I saw Juliet coming back with herd. I was afraid it'll be hard but wasn't so bad. Mr. Grey ran a bit, yes, but was under control. All horses were wet after a bath in the river, little foal too :3
We packed into the box without any problems. From perspective of few days I see it was a big success...

Sideways Game

In this game, you ask your horse to move sideways. Start with standing in front of a fence or wall, so horse won't be able to move forward. Then using Porcupine or Driving move once his fronts, once his hinds. He should soon get what's it about and move legs at the same time.
As your sideways get better you'll leave the wall and add something extra. You can play in every gate, pushing the horse away, or pulling to you using suggestion, do it from different , in different places. Over a barrel or a pole, on hills, in water, drive you horse moving sideways to make some shape on the ground, many options.

Be authentic

Mają niebywały talent do wyczuwania ściemniania.
A naprawdę warto.
A jeśli nie, zrób wszystko, by je u siebie rozwijać.
Pomyśl o wszystkich geniuszach i odkrywcach. Jak inaczej wyglądałby nasz świat bez nich, prawda? A oni myśleli nad wszystkimi sami albo w małych grupach.
Wszyscy należymy do tego samego gatunku, odczuwamy te same emocje i pragnienia.
To niezwykłe, prawda? A zwierzęta robią to jeszcze lepiej.
Bądźcie so
